PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent increase in device size, while ensuring a guide function which prevents a holding member from floating.SOLUTION: An optical scanner 10 includes a housing 11 with a light emitting port 12, a tabular cover member 14 for closing the light emitting port 12, and a cleaning mechanism 20 for cleaning a surface of the cover member 14. The housing 11 has a recess 13 extending along a longitudinal direction of the light emitting port 12. The cover member 14 has a width direction end protruding to a recess 13. The cleaning mechanism 20 includes: a holding member 23 which moves in a longitudinal direction of the cover member 14; and a cleaning pad 22 held by the holding member 23 and coming into contact with the surface of the cover member 14. An end of the holding member 23 is folded, and is hooked on a rear face of the width direction end of the cover member 14 protruding to the recess 13.
