The present application discloses a method for accessing metadata, comprising: receiving an authentication information query request sent by a query engine, and sending the authentication information query request to a global database server; receiving corresponding authentication information sent by the global database server; sending the authentication information to the query engine so that the query engine determines, according to the permission authentication result of the authentication information, whether to access repository table information corresponding to the metadata. The present application also discloses a corresponding server and system. By means of storing the metadata authentication information in the global database server and storing metadata repository table information in one to a plurality of section database servers, distributed storage of metadata is achieved; the server accessing the metadata obtaining from the global server the authentication information queried by the query engine and obtaining from the section database server the repository table information queried by the query engine reduces metadata access time and increases the speed of sharing and exchange of information in a distributed data repository. |
