<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical apparatus applicable to a display device concurrently served as a surface irradiation type display device and a backside irradiation type display device. <P>SOLUTION: The optical apparatus includes: a pair of transparent substrates disposed facing each other; mutually incompatible polar solvent and nonpolar solvent disposed between the pair of transparent substrates; a first transparent electrode formed on the facing surface side of one substrate of the pair of transparent substrates; second and third transparent electrodes formed on the facing surface side of the other substrate of the pair of transparent substrates; and a smooth layer for covering the second and third transparent electrodes. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
