The present invention provides a calibration apparatus and a calibration method for converting coordinates by using information of respective photographed images and distance information wherein changes of coordinates are calculated by using a flat plate member including a vertex and by using a corresponding pair of lines comprising a vertex which is estimated from the distance information, and a vertex which is extracted from the image information. Accordingly, it is possible to overcome the limitations of the position where the laser sensor, the camera, and the plate member are arranged.
