PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of forming a high-quality image without uneven glossiness by detecting the operation abnormality of a torque generation part when an image is formed. ! SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes a fixing surface side member arranged on the fixing surface side of a paper sheet on which a toner image is formed, a rear surface side support member arranged on the rear surface side of the paper sheet and brought into press-contact with the fixing surface side member, to form a fixing nip for holding and conveying the paper sheet, and a driving part for rotating the rear surface side support member at a predetermined peripheral speed.
