PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the problem that a rolling stock traveling by using only wheels of metal as contact faces with rails can reduce traveling energy because of very small rolling resistance to effectively travel and is suitable for a rolling stock having heavy weight, but its small friction force with the rails requires much time until a predetermined speed is reached after starting and much time until the rolling stock is stopped for stopping. ! SOLUTION: A rolling stock improved in acceleration performance and deceleration performance can be realized by providing not only wheels of metal as contact faces with rails, but also wheels of elastomer, such as rubber, which can obtain a high frictional force, and allowing those two types of wheels to simultaneously contact the rails to effectively use large friction force on acceleration from starting, deceleration for slow-moving and stopping, or sudden stopping on emergency. !
