PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid oxide fuel battery of fuel-electrode-support type which is hard to cause the decrease in strength even when repeatedly exposed to a reduction atmosphere/oxidative atmosphere by repeating its activation and deactivate and therefore, highly durable.SOLUTION: In a solid oxide fuel battery of fuel-electrode-support type according to the present invention, the whole of a fuel electrode or a part of the fuel electrode in a direction of the thickness thereof is composed of a dense layer of which the porosity A is 10% or less before the initial activation of the solid oxide fuel battery; in the case of repeating the activation and deactivation of the solid oxide fuel battery, the porosity A of the whole dense layer is raised under a reduction atmosphere during operation and thus, the dense layer facilitates the passage of a fuel gas, whereas during nonoperation, the porosity B of the part of the dense layer in the thickness direction is lowered under an oxidative atmosphere and thus, the dense layer suppresses the passage of an oxidation gas. |
