PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the temperature of an object to be detected with high accuracy even when the temperature of the object to be detected changes rapidly. ! SOLUTION: A temperature detection device 1 detects the temperature of an object 3 to be detected that has a switch element. This temperature detection device 1 is provided with a current detection unit 11 and a temperature estimation unit 13. The current detection unit 11 detects an output current of the object 3 to be detected that changes in accordance with an on/off of the switch element. The temperature estimation unit 13 calculates a conduction loss of the switch element and a switching loss of the switch element on the basis of the current value detected by the current detection unit 11, and estimates the temperature of the object 3 to be detected on the basis of the calculated conduction loss and switching loss. !
