PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the accuracy of a personal profile as information for specifying a personal concern.SOLUTION: A profile management system sorts processing object documents designated by the user of a device which handles document data into event documents as documents related to events which are scheduled to be held or which have been already held and the other documents, and determines whether or not the events related to the sorted event documents are significant for the user on the basis of information recorded in a personal profile corresponding to the user and information recorded in an event profile corresponding to the events, and extracts a word from the event document related to the event determined to be significant among the sorted event documents, and records the word as a keyword in the personal profile.
