PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a relay device capable of simplifying the management task of an operator and a method for managing the relay device.SOLUTION: The relay device includes: an external storage medium port 6 for connecting an external storage medium 14; an EEPROM (storage part) 5 for storing a current set value and an initial set value; a CPU (management part) 4; and a switching control part 2 for controlling the relay of a frame or the like. The CPU (management part) 4 detects the presence/absence of the existence of a setting initialization instruction from the external storage medium 14 via the external storage medium port 6, and when the setting initialization instruction exists, overwrites the initial set value stored in the EEPROM (storage part 5) on the current set value to initialize the setting information of a relay device 1. |
