Disclosed are a terminal function module enabling method and a terminal device, wherein the method comprises: detecting a touch operation of a user on a sensor, wherein the sensor is arranged in an area out of an outer surface touch screen of the terminal; based on the touch operation, generating touch information; and when the touch information that is generated meets a condition for enabling a function module of the terminal or enabling a function type of the function module, enabling the function module or the function type of the function module. Therefore, embodiments of the present invention can quickly enable a function module of a terminal through touch information generated by a touch performed by a user on a sensor out of a terminal touch screen, preventing dependency of terminal function module enabling on the touch screen and multi-layer interface operation complexity.
