<p>According to an embodiment of the present invention, an apparatus for processing an image includes an area determining unit and a data compressing unit. The area determining unit determines whether pixels, included in image data, are used for correcting distortion aberration by an imaging element. The data compressing unit compresses the image data by encoding the image data based on a determination result of the area determining unit, and then outputs the compressed image data to be stored in an external storing unit.</p> |
