PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound of proteins, peptides, peptide mimetics, small molecules and the like, a method for therapy of cell proliferation diseases such as neoplasm, tumor or cancer or metastasis thereof, and a method of identifying and screening an active compound.SOLUTION: A compound shares a preservation motif called "anti-cancer motif" predicting anti-cell proliferation (such as anti-cancer, anti-neoplasm or anti-tumor) activity and has anti-cell proliferation activity. The compound can bind to NPRC (NPC-type receptor) or regulate NPRC activity. A compound comprising a preservation motif but lacking NP (natriuretic peptide) or another structural element of NPRC can be selective for therapy of cell proliferation diseases (such as cancer, neoplasm or tumor). Occurrence and the like of one or more adverse effects caused by another structural element and cardiovascular or other adverse effects mediated by another NP or NPR are reduced. |
