Systems and methods for structured and unstructured reservoir simulation using parallel processing on GPU clusters to balance the computational load. The reservoir simulation distributes new fluid pressures and compositions determined for the reservoir to one or more GPU's by a respectively linked CPU; performs a multi-phase flash calculation on each GPU that was distributed new fluid pressures and compositions with an unstable phase; and distributes a result for each multi-phase flash calculation to each respectively linked CPU for the reservoir simulation. |
