PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-resolution imaging system capable of being down-sized and also to provide a method for driving an imaging system. ! SOLUTION: An imaging system includes: a camera part 1 which includes an imaging element 2 and a lens 3 for forming the image of a subject on an image forming surface of the imaging element and which images the image with the imaging element; a moving stage 4 capable of moving the camera part; and a control part 5 which moves a position of the subject forming the image on the image forming surface of the imaging element within a range smaller than a pixel pitch of the imaging element with the moving stage, which makes the camera part image a plurality of images at different moving positions of the moving stage, and which synthesizes the plurality of images. !
