The invention relates to a latent heat accumulator (10) for an electrical energy store (31, 32), comprising at least one phase change material (10a). In order to improve the safety, performance and lifespan of said electrical energy store (31, 32), the at least one phase change material (10a) is selected from the group of alkanes having a carbon chain length of ≥ 16 carbon atoms to ≤ 24 carbon atoms, and mixtures thereof, and/or is mixed with at least one thermally-conductive electrically-insulating inorganic filler material (10b).
