PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for preparing polycaprolactone (PCL)-containing microparticles, microparticles obtained by the process, and usage of thus obtained gels.SOLUTION: A process for producing PCL-containing microparticles having excellent properties such as flowing properties comprises: solubilizing a PCL polymer in a solvent and mixing the solubilized PCL polymer in the solvent with a liquid comprising methylcellulose as a surfactant, the liquid having a viscosity in the range from 75 to 2000 cP; forming PCL-containing microparticles from the obtained solution; extracting the solvent by extraction evaporation from these PCL-containing microparticles dispersed in the liquid to thereby form the PCL-containing microparticles. The PCL-containing microparticles or gels provide use of the gels for preparing a medicament for treating a skin abnormality or disfigurement, controlling bladder function, controlling gastric reflux, treating erectile dysfunction and treating vocal cords. The gels may also be used for cosmetic applications. |
