<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pretreatment method of biomass for promptly, inexpensively, and efficiently cooling a high concentration and a large amount of ammonia diffused immediately after the end of a pretreatment of a substrate mixture. <P>SOLUTION: In the pretreatment method of the biomass, a second heating medium is supplied to a heat pump that heats a first heating medium that heats the substrate mixture, the second heating medium is cooled by exchanging heats with the first heating mediums, and ammonia separated from an ammonia-containing saccharifying pretreatment matter is cooled using the cooled second heating medium. A prescribed amount of a heating medium cooled to a lower temperature than a temperature upon circulated in a circulation path is stored beforehand, and the ammonia is cooled by the heating medium cooled to a lower temperature than a temperature upon circulated in a circulation path during the time between when the concentration of ammonia diffused from the ammonia-containing saccharifying pretreatment matter decreases to a prescribed concentration and when the amount of ammonia decreases to a prescribed amount. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
