A device to pull the shoulders back and straighten the spine, thus lessening the backache of those who are beginning to stoop with advancing years. There are four separate components - the central one is a rigid back-piece about 75mm wide in length to reach from the neck to the lumbar region. Permanently attached to it are two short straps which come over the shoulders, each with a buckle at the end. There are two longer straps, plain, with holes punched at either end. The fourth component is the front strap, about 150mm long, with a buckle affixed at each end. In use, the long straps are buckled to the shoulder straps, brought round the back of the person and crossed, bringing the lower end of the back piece close to the loins, then buckled to the front strap. A lightweight knapsack can be hung on the back if desired. <Figure 1>
|
