<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module having a structure that allows high-density mounting even for a small-sized optical transceiver for WDM, for example, a small-sized optical transceiver for WDM conforming to the QSFP+ standard. <P>SOLUTION: The optical module of the present invention comprises: a housing; an optical adaptor attached to an end of the housing; and an optical transmission assembly mounted in the housing. The optical transmission assembly has: a TOSA including a plurality of light-emitting elements that emit an optical signal; and a circuit board electrically connected to the TOSA. The TOSA has at least one or more pairs of TOSA bases disposed facing to one another on a side face where the plurality of light-emitting elements are facing to one another. The TOSA base has a light emission surface including an optical component installation portion formed thereon on which an optical multiplexer composed of a plurality of filters is installed.
