Class 20(3) [Also in Group XXV] A fastener device for securing two members to one another comprises a U-shaped metal body, at least one side wall of which is formed with one, or more prongs projecting inwardly of the wall toward the base for engagement with a member to be embraced by the fastener, the base of the U-shaped body being formed with at least one resilient tongue the free end of which projects laterally outwardly of an adjacent wall for engagement with a member adapted to embrace the fastener. Fig. 2 shows a resilient U-shaped metal fastener for securing a channel guide 7 for a window 8 into the channel 10 of a frame member 9, each side wall 2 of the fastener having a pair of inturned prongs 3 which dig into the guide 7, and two resilient tongues 6 which are cut out from the base 1 and the adjacent side walls 2 of the fastener. The tongues 6, which project beyond the walls 2, frictionally engage the side walls of the channel 10. In a modification the tongues 6 are cut from the sides of the base.</p> |
