A composition comprising: (a) a GH61 polypeptide having cellulolytic enhancing activity and (b) a bicyclic compound, wherein the combination of the GH61 polypeptide having cellulolytic enhancing activity and the bicyclic compound enhances hydrolysis of a cellulosic material by a cellulolytic enzyme, wherein the bicyclic compound is of formula (I) or (II): wherein the bond indicated with a dashed line can be single or double; R1 and R2 are independently hydrogen, —C(O)R5, —C(O)OR6, —C(O)NHR7, or an optionally substituted moiety selected from alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, cycloalkyl, cycloalkyl-alkyl, heterocycloalkyl, heterocycloalkyl-alkyl, aryl, aralkyl, heteroaryl, and heteroaralkyl; R3, R4a, R4b and R4c are independently hydrogen, halogen, —OH, —OR8, —CN, —NO2, —N(R9)(R10), —C(O)R5, —C(O)OR6, —C(O)NHR7, —OC(O)R11, —NHC(O)R12, —OC(O)OR13, —NHC(O)OR14, —OC(O)NHR15, —NHC(O)NHR16, —SO2R17, —SO2N(R18)(R19), —SR20, or an optionally substituted moiety selected from alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, cycloalkyl, cycloalkyl-alkyl, heterocycloalkyl, heterocycloalkyl-alkyl, aryl, aralkyl, heteroaryl, and heteroaralkyl; and wherein two of R4a, R4b, and R4c may together form an optionally substituted fused ring; R5, R6, R7, R8, R9, R10, R11, R12, R13, R14, R15, R16, R18, R19, and R20 are independently hydrogen, or an optionally substituted moiety selected from alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, cycloalkyl, cycloalkyl-alkyl, heterocycloalkyl, heterocycloalkyl-alkyl, aryl, aralkyl, heteroaryl, and heteroaralkyl; and R17 is an optionally substituted moiety selected from alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, cycloalkyl, cycloalkyl-alkyl, heterocycloalkyl, heterocycloalkyl-alkyl, aryl, aralkyl, heteroaryl, and heteroaralkyl; or a salt or solvate thereof; wherein the combination of the GH61 polypeptide having cellulolytic enhancing activity and the bicyclic compound enhances hydrolysis of a cellulosic material by a cellulolytic enzyme according to the following formula with a ratio greater than 1:G⁢⁢H⁢⁢61⁢⁢effect=%⁢⁢conversion(+⁢GH⁢⁢61)%⁢⁢conversion(no⁢⁢GH⁢⁢61).
