1. A nonaqueous ink composition for ink jet recording, comprising:
a pigment, present in an amount of 0.5 to 25% by mass; a solvent represented by general formula (6) wherein a content of the solvent represented by general formula (6) is 30 to 90% by mass; a surfactant comprising at least one selected from a silicon surfactant, a fluorine surfactant, a polyoxyethylene derivative, and a nonionic surfactant, present in an amount of 0.05 to 3% by mass; and an ethylene glycol compound present in an amount of 20 to 80% by mass; wherein a surface tension at a measuring temperature is 20° C. is 20 mN/m to 50 mN/m.
