Disclosed are a method for acquiring global state information of a gossip-based peer-to-peer (P2P) system and a P2P device therefor. The method comprises (a) a node selection step in which a first node selects at least one second node among local view nodes of the first node; (b) a node vector receiving step in which the first node receives a view vector of at least one node selected from at least one node among a plurality of nodes including a P2P network; and (c) a node view vector update step in which the first node compares a view vector of the first node and a view vector of at least one node, and the view vector of the first node is updated.
