The invention relates to mixtures of aluminum hydrogenphosphites of the formula (I) Al2.00(HPO3)v(H2PO3)yx(H2O)z  (I) and aluminum salts comprising 91 to 99.9% aluminum hydrogenphosphites of the formula (I) 0.1 to 9% aluminum salts and 0 to 50% water (of crystallization), where v in formula (I) is 2 to 2.99, y is 2 to 0.01 and z is 0 to 4, to processes for preparation thereof and to the use thereof.
