The present invention provides a biometric authentication apparatus which prevents authentication errors of authentication information, obtained from biometric information of a registered user to be deleted, and can reduce computation load by deleting authentication information. The biometric authentication apparatus includes: a memorization unit (42) which memorizes identification information and authentication information of a plurality of registered users; deletion processing units (52, 53, 64) that resister identification information of a registered user in a deletion list after receiving a request for deleting authentication information of one of the registered users, and then delete authentication information of the registered user corresponding to identification information registered in the deletion list at predetermined time; and authentication processing units (51, 61-63) that determine whether the user, who is not the registered user corresponding to identification information registered in the deletion list, is being authenticated by comparing biometric information of the registered users with biometric information of a user based on authentication information of each registered user and authentication information extracted from biometric data indicating bio-information of the user. |
