PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic texture monitoring system capable of efficiently inspecting road surface textures and ensuring a targeted texture to be obtained, in a pavement method using a road roller.SOLUTION: An automatic texture monitoring system for measuring the road surface texture of a road compacted by a road roller has a road surface texture measuring apparatus for measuring a road surface texture attached on the road roller. The road surface texture measurement apparatus comprises a height meter located behind a compaction roller for measuring the height from the road surface, a traveled distance detector that generates a traveled distance detection signal corresponding to the distance traveled by the road roller, a data processing unit that calculates the distance traveled by the road roller based on the traveled distance detection signal and calculates one or plural road surface condition values that indicate the road texture using the height measurement values obtained from the height meter and the calculated traveled distance, and a display unit in which the calculated road surface condition values are displayed.
