The disclosure relates to a method and an apparatus for performing an online game. A user terminal, which performs an online game based on the execution of a game client, displays a user interface window on a screen for changing a military camp in accordance with military camp change of a player. A server computer, which performs an online game service, selects one battle combat among multiple battle combats from the user terminal through the user interface window for changing the military camp and performs the military camp change by applying a buff function to improve the ability of each character within the military camp and a chain skill in which each character in the military camp set for each battle combat based on military camp change selection information inputted from the user terminal is participated when the military camp change selection information including the arrangement of each auxiliary character around a main character according to the selected battle combat is inputted, and processes a battle of each character in the military camp and the movement of the military camp according to the battle combat by confirming a control for performing a game of the user terminal which performs the military camp change. Therefore, the method for performing an online game can improve concentration on and interest of a game in comparison with existing online games, can vitalize an online game service, and can maximize the sales and provision of various additional services. |
