PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shift device having a novel constitution. ! SOLUTION: A cam member 40 is held at a reference position P0 during normal operation. An engagement projection 31 of a coupling member is engaged with a tooth 53 and a notch 24 in a rotation direction of a dial knob 14. Therefore, in linkage with rotation operation of the dial knob 14, a click member 20 rotates together. When a motor 91 is driven in a state that rotation of a knob base 50a is regulated by a lock member, the cam member 40 rotates relative to the knob base 50a, and a cam wall 42 moves in a direction coming close to the engagement projection 31 of the coupling member. Then the cam wall 42 presses the engagement projection 31 downward, and contacts a projection 26 of the click member 20 in the rotation direction.
