摘要 [Problem] To obtain an anti-reflective optical member having a preventive effect against low reflection over a broad spectrum, and having optical characteristics such as high transmittance. [Solution] This anti-reflective optical member includes a laminated structure obtained by laminating the following in the stated order: a transparent substrate (10) having a first refractive index larger than a predetermined medium; a metal-microparticle-containing layer (12) containing a plurality of metal microparticles (20); and a dielectric layer (14) having a second refractive index larger than the predetermined medium. At least 60% of all the metal microparticles (20) are planar metal particles (20) in which the ratio of diameter to thickness is 3 or more. The main flat surfaces of the planar metal particles (20) have a plane orientation within the range of 0° to 30° with respect to the surface of the metal-microparticle-containing layer (12). In the metal-microparticle-containing layer (12), the plurality of metal microparticles (20) are disposed without forming a conductive path. The thickness of the dielectric layer (14) is a thickness at which light reflected at the surface of the dielectric layer (14) when incident light enters the laminated structure from the surface side of the dielectric layer (14) interferes with and is masked by light reflected at the interface between the dielectric layer (14) and the metal-microparticle-containing layer (12).
