PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device allowing reduction in a calculation quantity when controlling brightness of each of light sources of a sidelight light source independently, and an electronic apparatus and a display device driving method.SOLUTION: A display device comprises: an image display panel; a planar light source that includes a light guide plate for illuminating the image display panel from the back face, and a sidelight light source composed by arranging a plurality of light sources on a position opposite an incidence plane as at least one side face of the light guide plate; and a control section that controls the brightness of each of the light sources independently. The control section stores, for each light source as a lookup table, information of a light intensity distribution obtained when a flat surface of the image display panel is irradiated with incident light emitted from the light source through the light guide plate, and controls a light source lighting quantity of each light source on the basis of input signal information of the image and each lookup table. |
