PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a door closer which can be mounted on a door quickly and easily, and in which a fixing member such as a screw is not arranged in front of a housing. ! SOLUTION: A door closer body 1 includes a housing 2 having a sealed space 2A filled with hydraulic oil, a piston 13 disposed so as to reciprocate in the sealed space 2A while being energized by energizing means 18,19, and a rotation axis 3 supported by the housing 2. A mounting plate 35 for mounting the door closer body 1 on the door is fixed to the door. The mounting plate 35 has a hook part 36B, and a hook engaging part 5A is formed on a back wall 5 of the housing 2. A hook part 36B is engaged with the hook engaging part 5A by moving the housing 2 in the horizontal direction with respect to the mounting plate 35.
