<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the generation of a defective dent even if the temperature of a conveying roll changes. <P>SOLUTION: A control device 11 controls the pressed-in amount of a polishing roll 2 into a conveying roll 20 so that the current load of a motor 3 detected by a current load sensor 8 comes within a predetermined current load range corresponding to the temperature of the conveying roll 20 detected by a temperature sensor 9.
