The present invention relates to a process for culturing microorganisms of fungal origin on a solid medium, characterised in that the solid medium consists of an absorbent, compressible and practically non-fermentable solid support, the said solid support being impregnated with a culture medium suitable for the growth of the said microorganisms and which is then compressed at the end of the culture in order to release the absorbed liquid.
