A cable reel (2) for electrical cable, has at least one plug 8, and a handle 6 which turns the reel, winding the electrical cable. The reel 2 is arranged such that the two sides 14, 16 of the hub are joined together by a carrying handle 10, which is offset from the longitudinal axis of the hub 4 of the reel 2. When the reel is lifted, the weight of the reel will cause it to rotate about the handle, and cause a first end 22 of the base to touch the floor before a second end of the base 24. Preferably, the reel is arranged so that the handle may be received in a receiving formation 30 of another reel, so that a number of cable reels 2 may be stacked in a line along the ground. |
