a wireless communication unit configured to send data to the station; and a control unit configured to:
determine if the access point should enter a low power mode based on indicative parameters of a basic service set (BSS),determine a sleep duration for when the access point enters the low power mode based on a percentage of time that the access point is transmitting over the BSS,send, to the station via the wireless communication unit, a first notification that includes a clear to send to self (CTS-to-self) frame to cause the station to temporarily suspend sending data to the access point during the sleep duration, andcause the access point to enter the low power mode for the sleep duration.
