<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem of an image reader where a user specifies the original size and the direction, and a specified area is read, that the direction of a mounted original and the specified original direction are mistaken easily, and when the original direction is mistaken, the original is cut in the way, and thereby the scan results intended by the user cannot be obtained.SOLUTION: A user is made to specify only the original size, and an area required for direction determination is read in the original size thus specified. Thereafter, the original direction is detected from that area, and an image is cut out and outputted.</p> |
