<p>The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for searching for a driving route using heuristics. The apparatus for searching for a driving route using heuristics comprises: a storage unit to store map data and a table containing travel costs between areas on a map; a control unit to calculate a route from a starting location to a destination based on the map data and the table; a display unit to display at least one among the map data and the route; and an input unit into which a user inputs at least one among the starting location and the destination. According to the present invention, an estimate of travel costs from each midpoint to a destination which must be calculated when searching for a driving route in a navigation system can be calculated quickly and accurately by using the travel costs between the areas on the map pre-stored in the table to reduce a search range and search time required to search for a driving route to the destination on the map.</p> |
