PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a porous body having extremely fine fiber diameter and water repellent property with using a cellulose nanofiber having high hydrophilicity, and having large specific surface area, and a manufacturing method the porous body at low cost easily.SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of a cellulose porous body includes a process of freeze-drying a mixture containing a cellulose nanofiber and a dispersion medium to obtain a porous substrate, a process of adding water repellent component to the porous substrate and the solid content of the cellulose nanofiber in the mixture is 0.001 to 5 mass%.
