A liquid crystal display device of the present invention forms an asymmetric polypyramid pattern on at least one surface of an upper surface or a lower surface of a light guide plate, controls an angle of light of incident backlight to an optical sheet, and forms a thin film high brightness backlight unit with only two prism sheets. The liquid crystal display device comprises: a liquid crystal panel outputting an image; an LED array arranged on the bottom of at least one side of the liquid crystal panel, and supplying light to the liquid crystal panel; a light guide plate arranged in a light output direction of the LED array and where the asymmetric polypyramid pattern is formed on at least one surface of the upper surface or the lower surface; a reflection plate arranged at the bottom of the light guide plate, and reflecting light transmitted to the rear of the light guide plate to the upper surface of the light guide plate; and an optical sheet arranged at the top of the light guide plate, and consisting of upper and lower prism sheets.
