The present invention relates to a lifter for handling a large or heavy fixture capable of lifting a fixture safely and easily to install the fixture properly even under poor work conditions such as overhead construction for mounting a heavy or large fixture. The lifter for handling a large or heavy fixture according to the present invention comprises: a base unit (100) on which a plurality of wheels (120) are installed to move on a work floor and a drive source to drive the wheels (120) is loaded; masts (200) uprightly installed on a left and right sides of the base unit (100); a vertical transport unit (300) installed on the left and right masts to move vertically; a vertical drive mechanism (400) to move the vertical transport unit (300) vertically; an installation unit (500) mounted on a front of the vertical transport unit (300); clamping levers (600) wherein base end units are mounted on first hinge shafts (502) and face each other from the left and right sides of the installation unit (500) to rotate horizontally to allow free end units to move towards each other or away from each other to grip side portions of the outer surface of a fixture; and a lever operation mechanism (700) to drive the left and right clamping levers (600) to rotate.
