The present invention relates to an apparatus for decreasing a drive force of a trench mortar which can reduce a drive force required for the weight of a gun barrel assembly of a trench mortar when lifting the gun barrel assembly. The apparatus for decreasing a drive force of a trench mortar according to the present invention comprises: a vertical actuator disposed on a lower portion of a gun barrel assembly of a trench mortar to operate for a high angle drive of the gun barrel assembly; and a compensation device disposed on both sides of the vertical actuator to reduce a drive force required to operate the vertical actuator.
