PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect an object of a detection target while dealing with positional fluctuation in a depth direction of a picture even in the case where the object is spread over the pictures in neighboring imaging ranges imaging a partially overlapped range. ! SOLUTION: When setting a detection area (W) to a boundary position spread over a left-side picture (LP) and a right-side picture (RP) of neighboring imaging ranges, the detection area (W) is defined as a pattern formed from two divided areas (w1 and w2) resulting from dividing the detection area (W) for each of the pictures (LP and RP) of setting targets, and these two divided areas (w1 and w2) are adaptively set to the pictures (LP and RP) of the setting targets at positions excluding the overlapped range while considering a parallax amount (Pd) between the pictures (LP and RP) of the setting targets corresponding to a size of the detection area (W). !
