METHOD AND APPARATUS OF USER PROFILING FOR CONTENTS RECOMMENDATION SYSTEM

Disclosed are a method and apparatus for user profiling for a content recommendation system. The method for user profiling performed in a user profiling apparatus includes the steps of: dividing contents use history of users with a predetermined time unit; generating user groups per time by mapping the contents user groups based on the use history of each time zone; integrating the user groups per time based on similarity; and determining whether or not the generated user group per time will be applied as an end user group based on the similarity. Therefore, the method and device for user profiling for contents recommendation can accurately recommend and provide the contents which the users want by separating tastes of various users using the contents from the contents recommendation system and integrating the same through the time-based contents user groups.
