The present invention relates to a variable fertilizer application system and a fertilization method using the same, which especially obtains growth and development information on crops such as grass by images and performs variable fertilization based on the obtained growth and development information. The variable fertilizer application system for spreading fertilizer on the crops comprises: a camera (100) for detecting a growth condition of crops; database (200) for storing image information obtained by the camera (100); an image information analysis module (300) for analyzing the obtained image information; a control unit (400) for controlling a fertilization motor to adjust the amount of applied fertilizer in accordance with the analyzed image information; a fertilization motor (500) which is controlled by the control unit (400) and determines the amount of applied fertilizer; a fertilizer container (600) for supplying the amount of applied fertilizer determined by the fertilization motor (500); and a variable fertilizer spraying device (700) for spraying supplied fertilizer in accordance with the determined amount of applied fertilizer.
