PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suspension device capable of working as an active suspension which is reduced in energy consumption, constructed in a simple structure, and low in cost. ! SOLUTION: A suspension device S1 comprises: a cylinder 1; a piston 2 which is movably inserted into the cylinder 1; an expansion body D1 including a rod 3 which is movably inserted into the cylinder 1 and connected with the piston 2; an expansion side chamber R1 and a pressure side chamber R2 which are arranged in the expansion body D1; a damping passage 4 and a pump passage 5 which communicate with the expansion side chamber R1 and the pressure side chamber R2 in parallel; a resistance element 6 which is arranged halfway in the damping passage 4 to provide resistance against flow of passing fluid; a bidirectional discharge type pump 7 which is arranged halfway in the pump passage 5; a motor 8 which drives the pump 7; and a controller C which controls the motor 8. !
