PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine that can secure sufficient sealing property by an oil seal.SOLUTION: The engine 100 (internal combustion engine) includes: the oil seal 6 mounted to a crankshaft 5 of an engine body 10; a timing chain cover (TCC) 20 including a recessed part 30 for fixing the oil seal 6 mounted to the crankshaft 5 and a mounting hole 23 disposed in the vicinity of the recessed part 30, with which the timing chain cover is mounted to the engine body 10 by a fastening bolt 8.
