PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a front end edge part of a glass plate just having been cut from striking on pressing means.SOLUTION: In a cutting device 10, the reverse surface of a belt-like glass plate 12 below a cutting line 14 is thrust up by an upward movement of a cutting roller 16. When the cutting roller 16 is moved up to an elevated position, the belt-like glass plate 12 is cut along the cutting line 14. When the belt-like glass plate 12 is cut, a press roller 28 abuts on the top surface of the belt-like glass plate 12 to press the reverse surface of the belt-like glass plate 12 against a roller 22 of a roller conveyor 24. Consequently, the belt-like glass plate 12 is securely cut along the cutting line 14. Then, the press roller 28 moves to retract from the top surface of the belt-like glass plate 12 at the end of the thrusting-up action of the cutting roller 16. Consequently, a front end edge part 12A of the belt-like glass plate 12 is conveyed by rollers 22 without striking on a press roller 26. |
