Disclosed are a central cooling system and a control method thereof. The central cooling system comprises: a blowing fan unit to blow cooled air to a predetermined space; a refrigerator unit to supply a heat exchange medium to lower the temperature of the air by heat-exchanging the air flowing into or out from the blowing fan unit with the heat exchange medium; a cooling tower unit supplying cooling water to lower the temperature of the heat exchange mediums by heat-exchanging the heat exchange mediums with the cooling water and to cool outdoor air by heat-exchanging the outdoor air with the cooling water; a sensor part to measure the temperature of the air blowing out from the blowing fan unit, the temperature of the heat exchange medium discharged from the refrigerator unit, the temperature of the cooling water discharged from the cooling tower unit, and the temperature of outdoor air in the outside of the predetermined space, and the humidify of the outdoor air in the predetermined space; and a control part monitoring the energy consumption of the entire system according to the temperatures of the air, the heat exchange mediums, and the cooling water measured by the sensor part in the operation of the blowing fan unit, the refrigerator unit, and the cooling tower unit and calculating at least one among the control temperatures of the heat exchange medium, the cooling water, and the air to have the minimum energy consumption based on the monitored energy consumption, the outdoor air temperature, and the outdoor air humidity. |
