<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guard fence column which can be easily designed and does not damage reliability of products. <P>SOLUTION: The guard fence column includes a base body fixed to an installation surface by an anchor and a column body erected on the base body. The column body includes a first surface plate material and a second surface plate material connected to the first surface plate material through a connection plate material, a reinforcing rib is attached over the upper surface of the base body and the back surface of the second surface plate material of the column body, and a notched part whose lower end boundary is the upper end part of the reinforcing rib is formed on the back surface of the second surface plate material. Also, the column body has a bend part in the middle, and the bend part is formed of an inclined part erected and inclined at a prescribed angle to the base body and a vertical part continued to the inclined part and extended roughly vertically upwards to the base body.
